ASC SHIPBUILDING APPRENTICESHIP
Congratulations to Year 10 student Max Bowen (10PC-02) who was one of only 16 students successful in gaining a School Based Apprenticeship with BAE systems next year in Metal Engineering.
ASC Shipbuilding (owned by BAE Systems Australia) delivers the Hunter Class Frigate Program which is the largest surface ship building project in the history of our nation. The industry-led Shipbuilding Readiness Program allows students to complete their SACE, while gaining a head start on their transition to employment in the defence industry. The Shipbuilding Readiness Program forms one of the first of the SA Government’s ‘Flexible Industry Pathways’ projects to begin taking students. This is a fantastic opportunity for Max to gain skills and experience in the shipbuilding industry. He joins Year 11 student Ronan O’Donnell (11PC-04), who was successful earlier this year, and I am aware of other students currently undergoing the interview process for similar positions.
Well done Max!
