The tradition continues! For eight years now, a group of Catholic Colleges have come together to perform. Originally the Directors of Music wanted to come together to give our own students a chance to collaborate with like-minded students in their fellow Catholic Colleges and to celebrate our love of music together, in a fun and enjoyable community-type atmosphere. No set pieces, no adjudicators, no scores, no judgements!
The event “The Gen Connection” began in 2014 as a practice event for Generations in Jazz, held in Mt. Gambier each May. The Gen Connection was held at The Gov for six years, until COVID-19 hit last year in 2020. “The Gen Connection” was for Big Bands and Choirs who were heading down to Mt. Gambier.
So, in the two-year absence of this event, the current Directors of Music have been working on this showcase, Come Together, for 2021. We decided it was time for our Concert Bands, choirs, and some other ensembles to have a chance to perform. This event will feature a wide range of ensembles from each College. We are particularly excited to also present two combined works – featuring a combined concert band of over 100 and a choir of over 180!
We look forward to sharing with you this wonderful celebration of music as we “Come Together”.purchase your tickets here
